Video Project Quote: What We Need to Know

In order for us to put together an accurate estimate for a potential video project, there are a number of key details needed. These are some of the items we typically request and discuss during an initial meeting or phone call.

  •  Overall purpose– What are we trying to achieve? Whether you need “about us” video, project highlight, introduction/ launch, sales piece, product explainer, announcement, brand storytelling, testimonial, educational, internal, campaign advertising, or general awareness content, it’s important to start with the why.

  • Filmed or animated? It could definitely be both.

  • Is there a hard deadline for an event or campaign launch we should know about?

  • Do you have a specific vision or will we work together on the creative?

  • Who are the subjects? Could this video feature employees, customers, actors, and/ or models?

  • What might the location look like? If we need to include studio time or a location fee, this is something to consider.

  • Is there a script? Will this be written by you, us or a collaboration?

  • Budget –we know no one wants to talk about this, but an open discussion about this is beneficial to manage and meet expectations for both parties.
